Went with Michelle to Arroyo Grande and Pismo Beach a few days ago. We went to about seven thrift stores, had lunch at a Thai place, and walked the Pismo Pier. On our way home we stopped at a 50′s diner called “Rock and Roll Diner” in Oceano. Michelle and I split a banana split….Yummy. The diner is made from 2 railroad train cars and is decorated like the 50′s. Gotta check it out if you haven’t been there before. Had a great day and the time went by so fast.

Merchant Steamer Ship Uncovered
February 17th, 2010, posted in LandscapesMichelle (my sister in law) and I went down to Surf Beach yesterday afternoon to see the merchant steamer ship, Sybil Marston, that has been uncovered due to low tides. The ship struck the rocks near Surf on January 12. 1909. It was a lumber ship, and most of the lumber was taken by locals to build some house. The bow of the ship is about all that is left, but it was impressive just the same. I’m going to try and go back within the next few days if it doesn’t rain and get some better pictures hopefully.
There were a few people there so it was a bit difficult taking pictures. But we both didn’t want to leave when we got there. It just pulled us in somehow. They say it is about 1 mile, but it’s more like 2 miles from Surf. It was such a beautiful day. and I love the beaches here…they seem almost untouched.
Welcome
January 23rd, 2010, posted in FeaturedWelcome to my brand new website.
Last weekend I went to Jalama Beach with some of the members of the Lompoc Photography Guild. Here is one of the images I took at the tide pools. The roots of seaweed attached itself to the rock and then broke off making the “horns” of the skull.
I hope you enjoy my site and visit often.
Thanks to my husband, Tony Hubert, for designing the site and teaching me about maintaining a photoblog.
